SecondDoor and Cloudflare Agent Readiness

Free protocol checks from the company that fronts a fifth of the web.

Claims about Cloudflare Agent Readiness checked August 2026. Their site.

What it is

Launched around April 2026, Cloudflare's checker scores a site on discoverability, markdown content negotiation, bot access including Web Bot Auth and Content Signals, and capability surfaces such as APIs, MCP and x402. Each failed check comes with a prompt you can paste into a coding agent to fix it.

It is free and it funnels toward Cloudflare's own infrastructure, which is a fair trade: nobody is better placed to define how the edge should treat verified agents, because Cloudflare operates the edge much of the web sits behind.

What it does well

  • Authoritative on bot access: Web Bot Auth and Content Signals are Cloudflare's own specifications.
  • Per-fail fix prompts are a practical touch that most checkers lack.
  • Free, fast, and requires nothing but a URL.

Choose Cloudflare Agent Readiness when

  • Your site is behind Cloudflare and you want readiness advice from the vendor operating your edge.
  • You specifically need to audit bot management and verified agent access at the protocol level.
  • You want a quick free check with fix prompts and nothing else.

What SecondDoor measures that it does not

  • A funnel. Cloudflare's checker states plainly that it checks protocols; it does not walk a signup or a checkout. SecondDoor walks both doors on every scan.
  • The human comparison, so a wide gap is distinguishable from a site that is simply weak for everyone.
  • Business-aware scoring and monitoring over time.

Common questions

SecondDoor and Cloudflare disagree on my score. Who is right?

They measure different things. Cloudflare scores your protocol surface; SecondDoor scores that plus what an agent actually reaches when it tries to buy or sign up. A site can pass every protocol check and still lose the agent at a JavaScript-only pricing page, which is exactly the case the two scores separate.

The comparison that settles it is your own site. A free scan takes about a minute and the report is permanent.
