Refunds and cancellation
The short version: SecondDoor is a month to month service, you can cancel at any time, you keep paid features until the end of the month you have paid for, and subscription fees are not refunded.
Month to month, and nothing longer
Every paid plan is a monthly subscription. There is no minimum term, no annual commitment, and no cancellation fee. You are charged for one month at a time, in advance, in US dollars, and the plan renews automatically on the same day each month until you cancel it.
How to cancel
Cancelling is self serve and takes about thirty seconds. You never have to ask a person, and nobody will try to talk you out of it.
What happens when you cancel
Cancelling schedules the change for the end of the period you have already paid for. Nothing is switched off the moment you click.
We do not offer refunds
Subscription fees already paid are not refundable, in whole or in part. That includes the remainder of a month you cancel partway through, months in which you did not use the service, and allowances you did not spend. Cancelling stops the next charge. It does not reverse the last one.
Why the policy reads that way
A scan costs us real money to run on the day you run it, so a month already served cannot be handed back. The protection is the shape of the plan rather than a refund: there is no contract to get out of, and you are never committed to more than the month you are in. If the product is not for you, one cancellation ends it.
Moving between plans
You can change plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately and are charged from that day. Downgrades take effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, so you keep what you paid for until it runs out. Neither direction produces a cash refund, and your reports and history survive both.
One time services
The Door Gap Audit and Pilotage engagements are not subscriptions, and they are treated differently.
If a payment fails
We retry a failed payment, and your plan stays active while we do. The account area shows a notice asking you to update the card. If the payment keeps failing, the account moves to the Free plan at the end of the period and nothing further is charged. Your reports and history remain.
Questions, and charges you do not recognise
Write to billing@seconddoor.io and a person answers within one working day. If you think a charge is wrong, tell us before you raise it with your bank. We can almost always sort it out faster than a dispute can, and we would rather fix a mistake than argue about one.
The Free plan
The Free plan costs nothing, has no card attached and renews nothing, so there is nothing on it to cancel. If you want the account itself gone, close it from Settings and what it holds goes with it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the version on this page is the one that applies, and the date below tells you when it last moved. A change that affects what you are charged is sent to the address on your account before it takes effect.
